Social Volunteering

NIRMAN provides volunteering opportunities to bring young people face to face with social reality and engage them in acts of social contribution.

Various organizations participate, mentor and provide opportunities for action like WOTR, BAIF, Pragati Abhiyan Nashik, Paani Foundation, Vayam, DISHA for Victims, Sondara Gurukulam Beed, KVK Jalna, MKCL KF Pune, Tarunaai Foundation Buldhana, DILASA Sanstha Yavatmal and many others.

Youth get to learn about their comfort zones, rural scenario, social taboos, problems, needs, various approaches to solve problems and most importantly social relevance of their education.

Internships

Starting out on their professional journey means exposure, understanding of self, skills and experimenting to find the right fit. NIRMAN provides this opportunity through internships across various domains:

Participating in surgery camps, special OPDs at the SEARCH hospital, tobacco-alcohol consumption surveys, mobile medical unit in tribal villages, health education, tribal youth sports, school health program, Communication and outreach, working with the NIRMAN team and many more. Activities are organized throughout the year and students can participate as per the time window of their suitability.

This is an excellent learning opportunity for young people to:

  • Get first hand exposure to the rural/tribal life in Gadchiroli and understand the social challenges
  • Participate in professional and scientific work directed towards social change
  • Interact with and learn from eminent doctors, researchers, social activists in the state
  • Spend time at the beautiful SEARCH campus and engage in the community life there
  • Establish dialog and seek guidance from the NIRMAN team members to move forward in their purpose journey

In line with this value, NIRMAN also has an arm that works with the local youth of Gadchiroli and nearby areas. We aim to nurture a youth force that is socially aware, self-learning and actively engaged in realizing the dream of a socially forward Gadchiroli. To catalyze this, we conduct a variety of activities and create opportunities across multiple dimensions.

NIRMAN Quiz

A unique pedagogy used to connect with the local youth and deliver bite sized information about some historical happenings in Gadchiroli, the social issues prevalent here, some role models to draw inspiration from and leave them curious and inspired to develop a better understanding of the social realities around them.
